Fast-growing Sentient Science is putting another prestigious notch on its belt Monday when it accepts a New Energy Pioneer award from Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
Sentient was one of ten companies to accept the award in Manhattan in front of national media outlets, investors and other business and political stakeholders. The annual award recognizes companies that are driving change in the energy industry.
Sentient’s materials science-based prediction platform uses software and sensors to determine the safety and life expectancy of wind turbines, replacing the considerable expense of manual testing processes. It currently has 18,000 wind turbines under contract, CEO Ward Thomas said. The company recently pulled in $17 million in venture capital as it transitions from proving its technology in wind turbines to an aggressive sales plan.
